Resource Fair hosted by The Backpack Project of Athens

Oversaw Athens Resource Fair uniting over 25 community partners to provide essential services and resources in Athens, Georgia. Local service providers, health organizations, government departments, and student volunteers joined together to provide hot meals, healthcare services, employment information, clothing, interactive activities, and many other resources to over 200 attendees.

Service Learning Project Presentation

My team and I were tasked with developing a comprehensive communication strategy for Let All The Big Dawgs Eat Scholarship. The plan focused on raising more awareness about food insecurity at UGA and across the nation. Our deliverables included a redesign of the website, the passing of a proclamation with UGA’s Student Government Association, a collection of photographs, and a strategy for increasing online awareness.

Spoke at The Backpack Project’s fourth annual Homeless Heroes Day. At this event, corporate volunteers pack and distribute more than 1500 backpacks for individuals experiencing homelessness in the Atlanta community.

One of ten students to work one-on-one with a Winship clinical oncologist, conduct research in a working lab or clinic setting, attend field trips to places like the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the Georgia Institute of Technology, and hear lectures from a variety of specialists in oncology-related careers.
